What are “Electronic Certificate” and “Qualified Electronic Certificate”?
  • Electronic certificate is the document that includes the "signature verification data: that is required to confirm the identity of the owner of the signature and the authenticity of the signature.
  • Electronic certificates are required to confirm the authenticity of the signature.
  • In a Qualified Electronic Certificate, you can find information about the certificate provider, the date of expiry of the certificate, and the serial number of the certificate.

What is the difference from applications such as passwords or pin numbers?

  • Applications such as passwords and pin numbers do not exist within a legal framework. In a court, that a transaction is made using a password or pin number is not counted as evidence.
  • Electronic Signature is designed within a legal framework, and it is protected by law.
  • Turkcell Mobile Signature prevents any loss that would be caused by someone hacking your password or pin number.
  • For example, let's assume that someone has hacked your internet banking password. If you are a Turkcell Mobile Signature user, this person cannot make any transaction on your behalf without your SimPlus128 card and your Electronic Signature password.


Are transactions that are made with Electronic Signature insured?

  • In accordance with the regulations and bylaws of Electronic Signature, Electronic Certificate Service Providers are responsible for Electronic Signature processes from the beginning to the end.

Are there transactions that cannot be made with Electronic Signature?

  • Legal transactions that are subject to ceremonies and equity contracts cannot be signed by electronic signature. In other words, those ceremonial procedures and procedures that require a witness such as real estate purchases, and marriage cannot be made with electronic signature.
