Since TEB is aware of the importance of the culture and art for the future and recognition in international area of a country, TEB supports culture and art.
17th – 19th CENTURIES ANATOLIAN CARPETS EXHIBITION
TEB have supported the exhibition of “Turkish and Islam Pieces Museum Collection of 17th and 19th Centuries Anatolian Carpets of Gulgonen Family” to contribute to the culture and art. The history was weaved on carpets was exhibited between 18th of May and 17th of July in Turkish-Islam Pieces Museum.
CENTRE OF ATTRACTION-ISTANBUL MODERN
The main emergence point of sensitiveness on and contribution to culture and art of TEB is its deep belief of that the art is the mirror of social development. As a result of that belief, “Centre of Attraction” exhibition was actualized under the main sponsorship of TEB and it became the meeting point of modern art and an international declination for Istanbul where one of the important centres of culture is and art is provided.
TEB takes an active responsibility to expand the art to the mass by being a main sponsor to the “Centre of Attraction” exhibition which brings modern artists together from all over the world and is a centre of a creative cultural exchange.
WEIGH ANCHOR and BLUE TURQUOIS/LEGENDARY COAST
TEB who is always interested in marine and sea sports closely, was the sponsor of Weigh Anchor and Legendary Coast books of Sadun Boro, who was the first Turkish circumnavigator and took the duties of publish and distribution. The Weigh Anchor is a reference book for boat owners and amateur sailors since it was first published.
BONDS AND STICKS OF THE OTTOMAN ERA
The book “Bonds and Stocks of the Ottoman Era” of Prof. Ali Akyıldız was published and distributed by TEB and it became an important reference book on valuable papers of the Ottoman era.
The book gives information about the incorporation attempts starting with Maritime Lines approximately 150 years ago and first institutional borrowings as a result of the private institutions as a result of the financial requirements.
The figured silk clothes are one of the strongest and characteristic art pieces of Ottoman State.
Since they were diplomatic gifts, the silk clothes became the sign of the Ottoman sovereignty before the foreigners and they were the tools of the distribution of artistic ideas and important economic value with compare to others.
That book was the result of a long-ended international research project and it was published and distributed by TEB and it is also the first work that classifies the main technical and ornamentation shapes and cataloguing the date-mentioned pieces, among others.
